My Review of This Product:

Wonderful way to magnify from 40X to 1600X, that’s easy to use and has some unique features.

This 7-inch Digital Microscope by MatataStudio, is a fantastic way to have a fun microscope with good performance, a screen for viewing and an audience specific design. This is such a fun and useful teaching tool that’s definitely worth your consideration. Here are some of the things I’ve learned while owning it and things to consider before buying.

      I.          Quality – It appears to be a very nice quality version of this type of product, especially for a kid inspired version. I’d put it in the upper-middle level of the quality scale.

    II.          Ease of Use – It very easy to use. 15 min set-up and another 10 to get used to it. Its quick and convenient to turn it in for a minute, just to take a quick look at something. The light and screen are all relatively easy to operate and its touchscreen, which makes it easy and kids love touchscreens.

  III.          Functionality – The screen quality and smaller 7-inch size are very clear and crisp once focused. Allowing you to see in much greater detail, you have the ability to go from 40X to 1600X. You can even measure distances on the screen between two points. The design is geared towards kids and making it easy to operate. It includes some starter slides, but didn’t include any empty slides for exploration. The light is bright and effective and the controls are intuitive for the most part. Given the current cost, I don’t feel like this is a very good value, but that aside, it’s a great little microscope.

Overall, I really like having this product and I’m continually finding new and useful way to utilize to teach and explore. With its ease of use and so many applications, it’s great idea for anyone that wants to teach kids the joy of science. I’ll be sure to update this review, if I ever start to have problems with it.
