 Smooth operation with a durable housing, 66ft hybrid hose, that’s easy to use, but it’s lower flow.

This Retractable Garden Hose Reel by BSTOKCAM, is a very handy way to manage your garden hose and make it less tedious. With an easy 4-bolt mounting, 66 ft. length and side to side swivel, this one is a worthy consideration. Here are some of the things I’ve learned while owning it and things to consider before buying.

      I.          Quality – The main housing feels and looks like good quality that’s made of thick plastic that should hold up to the elements well and the abuse. The hose and brass ends are a little on the cheaper side versus what I’d buy on its own. Not terrible cheap, but noticeable if you’ve seen top quality hoses. The spray nozzle is about average quality, but very functional with 10 patterns to choose from.

    II.          Installation – You’ll need to install 4 large bolts that are included with anchors. The main unit is the lightest one I’ve tried at 15.4 pounds compared to some of the others I have that are over 35 pounds. However, this is a fairly large and awkward unit for some people to install, so plan accordingly.

  III.          Performance – It’s fairly easy to pull out and retract the hose as long as you guide it. It consistently winds the hose evenly making it so nice to use. The main housing has a helpful side to side swivel that moves around when needed without effort. This hose is a little thinner than some at only 1/2” vs 5/8”. This will reduce the max flow ability a bit, but won’t matter for most people’s needs. It still has a great flow that’s capable of provide more than adequate power and this one’s slightly thinner hose is lighter and cheaper. The sidewall of the hose itself is also thinner, but it’s held up good so far. If you need higher flow spend the little bit extra for the 5/8 version.

Overall, this is a great looking and performing retractable hose, that’s excelled at all the tasks I’ve laid out in front of it with flying colors, leaving me very happy with my choice. I was a little reluctant, because of the thinner and smaller hose, but it’s accompanied by a lower cost and weight that might be very desirable for some people. I’ll be sure to update this review, if I ever start to have problems with it.
