My Review of This Product:

Large Evaporative Cooler that’s very functional with a lot of features but some questionable quality

The Evaporative Air Cooler by YougetTech, is a great way to keep things cooler than a fan can offer without the cost and electricity of an A/C. However, the real question is, does it actually get cold enough to be worth it? Here are some of the things I’ve learned while owning it and things to consider before buying.

      I.          Quality – It’s overall quality is pretty decent, but definitely not high-end. I’d put the quality of the materials in the middle of the quality scale and guess it should still hold up for a while. I’m a little disappointed with the cheap wheels and overall lower quality of certain parts on this cooler considering the cost. It would appear that the higher cost went more into the features and functionality, then the quality.

    II.          Performance – It’s worked really well at what it was designed to do. The water flows quickly and effectively. The side to side oscillation is helpful and much appreciated. The size of the actual fan is smaller than I would have expected versus the overall size, but it still blows strong. For me, its minimally better than a fan without the ice packs for the water to flow over. However, with fresh ice in place, it does make a noticeable difference on how cold the air is. The included remote is cheap, but effective and much better than nothing. This unit can hold 8 gallons, which is an usually large amount of water compared to others I have. Adding water is very easy and doesn’t need to be done often, but the ice will melt quickly if it’s hot.

Overall, this has been a great benefit to help battle the relentless heat that inevitably comes every year despite my wishes. To me, it really isn’t an effective battle against 100+ degree temperatures by itself, but it does help a lot. It’s great in combination with other efforts or when it’s a milder level of heat. Also, it barely pulls more electricity than a fan, making it a great choice if you need to save electricity. I’ll be sure to update this review, if I ever start to have problems with it.
